Trout, Good Neighbors and Good Business

This last Saturday morning my bud from work and I ventured up to Saratoga Geyser Creek for some trout. No luck so we traveled up to the Lake George area to Northwest Bay Brook. The water was gin clear and at near Summer levels.  100_0984

Northwest Bay Brook didn’t provide much action so we worked our way up to Ticonderoga to check out one of my old haunts for Browns. (No, I’m not saying what brook or creek.)

On the way to Ti I got a low air warning from my Mountaineer’s display and got to a Stewart’s to check the air. Bad news…1/2 inch piece of glass in the SIDEWALL… Dead tire, can’t patch a sidewall. I got to Jay’s Service in Ti and he didn’t have a replacement tire but he went out of his way to make a phone call or two and check stock for us.

Seemed that no one had an 18” 235 profile tire and then my bud saw a sign for Tony’s Ticonderoga Sports. Tony’s folks were next-door-neighborly. They had the EXACT tire I needed and got it on my vehicle in record time at a more than fair price. Lesser places would have had me at BOHICA near closing time on a Saturday afternoon. Tony’s place and employees are the kind of people that make a business a place where I’ll tell my friends to go and I’ll be back. Efficient, skilled and more like old friends, the way I like to do business.

Glass and Tony's Card

Here’s Tony’s Card and the Glass shard that got me there.

Thank you Tony!!!!

Oh, yea, we got back to fishing and picked up some nice browns in short order. No, I’m still not saying where…
