Labor Day Weekend

Wasn't it just Memorial Day? I guess It had to happen, it was inevitable, Labor day is almost here, school vacation is all but over in the Northeast and the big yellow miracle is coming back next week. With the summer winding down the bunch of us went to the Painted Pony Rodeo in Lake Luzerne, just 6 miles south on 9N from Lake George, exit 21 of the Northway. We had their awesome BBQ and watched the oldest rodeo in the U.S. It was a great time, free parking, inexpensive and interactive! They really get the crowd involved and put on a great show. Just a hint, if you go don't put good socks on the under 10 set. When they have the Boot and Shoe race the socks are goners.

Well we finally got the deck scraped and painted, hayed the lawn and got a few other projects out of the way. Yea, the kids are going back to school, you've got wacky schedules and the back-to-school shopping to do. Not to fret though because you still have Summer until  September 22 at 11:44 am EDT.

The other great news is that New York State campsites stay open until Columbus day and there is still a few weekends left to try and get away. Even after that there is no reason to put the boat away yet or to put the tent back into mothballs because the best part of summer and fall is still to come. We still get warm, even hot days, and gorgeous cool nights where the campfire takes the chill off the night before you hit the sleeping bags.

I'm takin' Friday off,

TK
