Fresh water beaches in the capital region:
1. Moreau Lake. Clean, accessible and family friendly. Kayak lovers.
2. Cherry Plains State Park...Old CCC camp with awesome beach and amenities. Old earthen dam and the estuary is only 6-8' deep. Watch for angry beavers.....
3. Grafton State Park.. Several bodies of water, awesome beach, no motor craft access and tons of educational stuff for kids.
4. Glimmerglass State Park...Cooperstown best hidden jewel.
5. Gilbert Lake State Park... Glacial lake, awesome beach and playgrounds with "glamping"...Oneonta area...DO NOT MISS.
6. Thompson's Lake...OMG so close and so awesome to the Capital district.
